Do you enjoy hiking? Then this is the place for you! Make the most of the sumptuous setting of the Ariège Pyrenees to go walking. Or take a more strenuous hike, surrounded by the majestic peaks.

Our campsite in the Ariège is located in the heart of the Ariège Pyrenees. Hence, from the time you wake up till the sun goes down, you’ll be able to admire some stunning landscapes. The mountains culminate at 1,000 metres and create amazing scenery as well as harbouring a vast array of fauna and flora. There are also the hilltop castles and the abandoned mines.

A walk in the mountains near the Le Pré Lombard campsite is thus more than just a chance for some time out in the countryside. It is the perfect opportunity to unwind, get back to nature and discover the local heritage. And that’s what makes walking and hiking such a popular activity in the Ariège.

Which hiking trails should I choose?

To guide you during your hikes and cycle rides, we have set up the mountain chalet right here at our campsite. Inside, you’ll find a selection of hiking maps to help you choose your path. There are also information sheets available at reception.

Are you a novice? Our campsite at Tarascon-sur-Ariège also caters for you! The mountain chalet offers a selection of hiking trails adapted to different levels. Beginners and more seasoned walkers will thus find all the advice they need.

In addition, some paths are approved for trail running. This sport has been gaining in popularity over the last few years. In fact, some of the country’s most prominent events take place in the region, including the Challenge Montcalm and the Trail du Pic des 3 Seigneurs.

If you prefer to set off on a hike with a guide, you can! We organise walking tours adapted for all levels. Follow our guide and discover the unique landscapes of the Ariège.

In high season,two hikes are organised each week. They can last half a day (€10 per person) or a full day (€15 per person). Please book well in advance. The number of participants is limited so places book up quickly!

Finally, every Monday evening in July and August, there is a farmers’ market. At the same time, you’ll find our walking guide at the mountain chalet. He’ll answer all your questions about the local trails, whether you want to explore them alone or with a guide.
