Our campsite offers direct access to an 800-metre “no-kill” fishing area. This is the perfect spot for anyone who likes fly fishing, nymphing or toc fishing. Here you can target wild river trout, rainbow trout and grayling, with respect for the precious ecosystem of the Pyrenean rivers.
And that’s not all! We are proud to provide financial support to our local Fishing and Aquatic Environment Protection Association (APPMA), thus contributing to the preservation of our aquatic resources.

Ariège: a trout fishing haven in the Pyrenees
The Ariège is a gem of a place to fish, right in the heart of the Ariège Pyrenees. Its clear, unspoilt waters abound in river trout of impressive size, making this a bountiful spot for fishing enthusiasts.
From fly fishing to the “toc” technique, everyone can use their preferred method here. The fishing season runs from March to September, so there is a large window of opportunity for fans of the discipline. The spectacular Pyrenees landscapes and the way that the ecosystem is preserved add to the appeal of this experience.
The size of the fish differs enormously in the Ariège River, with specimens of up to an impressive 60-70 cm, depending on the area. In addition, the width of the river varies considerably, creating an exciting challenge for fishermen, who need to adapt to the environment.
The Ariège River extends 44 kilometres upstream from Le Pré Lombard campsite, to L'Hospitalet-près-l'Andorre. It stretches 22 kilometres downstream, to Saint-Jean-de-Verges. This makes it an ideal choice for a fishing trip spanning several days, letting you get from one fishing spot to the next quickly, instead of wasting precious time on the road.
Vicdessos: trout fishing in a picturesque setting
Experience trout fishing in the Vicdessos Valley, located in the heart of the Ariège Pyrenees, close to Le Pré Lombard, our Ariège campsite.
This scenic destination provides the ideal setting for an unforgettable fishing adventure, with crystal-clear waters and an abundance of wild trout in the Vicdessos river, which stretches for 38 kilometres, including the endemic fario or river trout.
It should be noted, however, that fishing in the Vicdessos Valley is no easy task and experience is required. The river trout you’ll find here are all wild. And although their size can be considered average, they remain very wary. To apprehend them, you’ll need an experienced approach and skilled technique.
